2022 Bargaining Survey (City of Medicine Hat)

CUPE Local 46 members employed by the City of Medicine Hat:

Our Collective Agreement expires in December 2022. The Negotiating Committee is seeking a freely negotiated settlement that addresses priorities of our members. In order that every member of the Union may participate and have a voice in proposing amendments to the present Collective Agreement, the Negotiating Committee is circulating this questionnaire.

WE NEED YOUR INPUT AND SUPPORT. The results of this survey MAY form the basis of our proposals and will be subject to final approval voted on by the membership at a special Membership meeting.

Please tap/click on the link below to download a blank form. Completed forms should contain the following:

  1. The section of the Collective Agreement affected by your submission.
  2. An outline of your proposed amendment along with your reason(s) for the change(s).
  3. Your name.
  4. Your signature.
  5. Your department.

Each form should only contain one proposal. Incomplete forms or forms submitted to the CUPE Local 46 President after April 30, 2022 will not be considered.

Changes to Good of the Union

Dear CUPE Local 46 Members:

Proposed amendments to Local 46’s Constitution & By-Laws were presented, discussed and voted on at the June 8, 2021 General Membership Meeting by members in attendance. The changes were then sent to CUPE National for approval.

In mid-October 2021, CUPE National replied to inform CUPE Local 46 that the changes had been approved. As such, the updated Constitution and By-Laws were in effect as of mid-October 2021. This information was relayed to the CUPE Local 46 Executive and to registered attendees of the November 9, 2021 General Membership Meeting.

Approved changes included the removal of the sections pertaining to CUPE Local 46 accepting applications from members for Get Well Gift Certificates and Bereavement Donations due to tax-related issues that had been brought to the attention of the CUPE Local 46 Executive. As such, CUPE Local 46 no longer accepts applications for or processes Get Well Gift Certificates or Bereavement Donation requests.

For more information, please contact the CUPE Local 46 President using the information provided on the Contact Us page.
